Çalışmalarımın temeli, sokaktaki tanımadığım erkeklerin fotoğraflarını çekerek belgelemeye dayanıyor. Amacım, tanımadığım bu erkeklerin kimliklerini, sokakta paylaştığımız mekanda iken yakalamak ve fotoğraflarla yansıtmak. Bu kişilerin varlıklarını, benim kentsel mekandaki varlığımla ilişkilendirmek, fotoğrafların temelinde yatıyor. Odak noktam, her bireyin kişisel bir portresini elde etmektense bir süje olarak yansıtmak, teker teker belgeler toplamak. Amaç asla, kişiliklerini yansıtmak ya da onlarla özel bir ilişkiye girmek değil. Mesafe, çalışmalarımda çok önemli bir rol oynuyor. Fotoğrafların amacı, süjelerle aramdaki psikolojik mesafeyi izleyiciye göstermek.

The focus of my work is based on the photographic documentation of anonymous men that I pass by on the streets. My work is an exploration of an urban photographic portrait dealing with the male figure within the city streets. It is about capturing male identities that occupy the city space at their least awareness.The work deals with depictions of individuals that inhabit a space in relation to my presence within that space.The focus of the work falls on depicting each individual as a subject, rather than concentrating on the identity of the person. The idea is to create a feel of a photographic documentation of one person at a time, treating each individual as a subject under examination rather than trying to capture intimate aspects of personality in the work. The factor of distance comes strongly into play within the work as a whole. The portraits aim to reflect the psychological distance that is created between subject and myself.

Olga, 27 yaşında. Atina doğumlu olan Olga, 2007′de London College of Fashion’dan moda fotoğrafçılığı dalında mezun olduktan sonra New York’a taşındı. Şu anda Parsons the New School for Design’da fotoğraf alanında master yapan Olga, editörlerimizden Merve’nin de sınıf arkadaşı.
